Goulash is a traditional Hungarian dish often made with beef, onions, peppers and tomatoes. It is often served as a stew, easy to prepare in the Dutch oven on the kamado bbq, and is a hearty and flavorful meal.
Goulash originated in Hungary in the 9th century and was originally a dish prepared by shepherds in the Puszta (the Hungarian lowlands). It was made from beef, onions and bell bell pepper, and seasoned with pepper and other spices. It was cooked in a kettle over an open fire and was often served with bread or potatoes.
